ReviewThe latest Fast Track novel, Slow Ride, by Erin McCarthy is sexy fun from start to finish. Diesel used to be stock car racing’s golden boy, but a terrible accident changed everything for him. He thinks that he has recovered from the accident, but there are some small parts of him that haven’t fully healed yet. These two come together with combustible passion, but terrific sex and lust isn’t enough for a real relationship. Tuesday and Diesel must decide what they need and want from the other or their passion will just burn out. I really enjoyed Tuesday and Diesel’s relationship. It isn’t perfect. In fact, at times, it is a mess. Tuesday doesn’t deal well with her father’s death and too often turns to alcohol to ease the pain. Diesel is still dealing with some of the emotional fall-out of his accident. Neither should be pursuing a relationship with anyone, but these two manage to help each other more than hurt. I loved the way the characters interact with each other and how the relationship evolves. It isn’t a case of love at first sight for these two. They have to work hard to get to their happily ever after. The writing flows and the dialogue between Tuesday and Diesel is snappy. The Fast Track books have been hit and miss for me, but Slow Ride, is a definite hit. I loved everything about the story and characters. Reviewed by Carrie | ||||||
