The Many Sins of Lord Cameron
Jennifer Ashley
Heat Level: 3.5 (Very Sensual)

A renowned rake, Cameron Mackenzie doesn't care if Ainsley Douglas has a virtuous excuse for sneaking around his bedchamber. He only cares that she's at his mercy. One kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. But what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam's own rules.

The Many Sins of Lord Cameron is a swoon-worthy historical romance.

This is book three in the Mackenzie series. (This book can stand alone – there isn’t any reason to have read the previous two books, other than their awesomeness.)

Cameron Mackenzie has a terrible past when it comes to women. His first wife was a terror (and that’s putting it mildly) and he has no desire to wed again. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy women. He does…a lot.

Ainsley Douglas was also unlucky in love to a much lesser degree and doesn’t know if she wants to be beholden to a single man again. She spends her days attending the Queen and her nights thinking about a six year old encounter with Cam.

I love this couple. Cameron and Ainsley share a lot of chemistry. It was between the six years earlier when Cam found Ainsley in his bedroom. Only her loyalty to her older husband stopped her from acting on it. Now, six years later Cam has once again found Ainsley in his bedroom and this time she’s a widow. The fact that the chemistry still exists between the two speaks a lot for the strength of their connection. I love how they fall in love. They fall in love with small gestures, stolen moments and heart-stopping passion.

One of my favorite scenes shows the chemistry between the two:

She raised on tiptoe and kissed him instead.

Ainsley felt the change in him, from a man wondering what would happen in this room tonight to a man knowing what would. As he kissed her again, his competent fingers unclasped her bodice, his broad hand spreading the fabric.

Wild heat seared her body. She’d never forgotten the fire of the first time Cameron had kissed her, six years ago and the fire had only grown hotter since. Ainsley molded hungrily to him, seeking his mouth. He kissed her back, lips taking, teeth sc

raping where he’d already bruised her. His hand on her back was an imprint of fire, and her bodice was falling. She wanted his touch on her breast, ached for it. She would give him anything he wanted, and propriety could go hand. She wanted this. She needed this.

The writing is superb. The sensuality and romance of the story can be felt through the words.

The Mackenzie family makes an appearance in the book and meddles in affairs as any good family would. I loved seeing the previously matched couples and the hints at what’s to come in the next book. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Mackenzie men.

The 3rd offering in the MacKenzie brother series is awesome. The reviewer, Carrie, describes Cameron\'s first wife as \"a terror (and that\'s putting it mildly)\", boy is she ever correct. We knew from previous books ,that something was not right in their marriage, but Cameron was lucky to come out of it alive. This book explains a lot about Cameron\'s view of women, marriage , fatherhood and child rearing. It is a wonderfully full and rich book, with well written characters. We got a sneak preview of the last MacKenzie brother, Hart\'s story, at the end and I can say I am anxiously looking forward to that also.

A Terrific Series
Kim
I am relatively new to the writing of Jennifer Ashley. I picked up her first book in this series and was impressed enough to read the next two.

I can't add much more to what has already been written, except to say that the Mackenzie brothers' upbringing has profoundly affected each brother in different ways.

Cameron was the least abused by his father, thereby feeling some guilt about the abuse his other siblings endured. His first marriage was violent and he comes to believe that no woman can be trusted. His upbringing also makes him unsure about the raising of his own son, Daniel.

Ainsley and Cameron are the perfect pairing, because she has no expectations about Cameron. She dotes on Daniel and brightens Cameron's life, Moreover, with Daniel's help, Cameron comes to see that Ainsley is loyal to those she loves and can be trusted.

It's not necessary to read this series in order, but it's helpful.
