Review

Lawe’s Justice is the latest installment of Lora Leigh’s Breed series.  This novel offers more of the same that will either delight readers or infuriate them, depending on if readers are Breed fans or not. 

So, I could write the traditional review discussing the characters, emotional connection, the sex, and the plot but for a Lora Leigh novel why bother?  Even if you like the series, you have to admit they are formulaic.  So I think it would be more helpful to check how Lawe’s Justice matches the Leigh formula readers either love or hate.

• Lawe is a familiar character from previous Breed novels.  Though highly sexed, Lawe is a calm, rational feline Breed before meeting Diane, his breedmate.  Once Lawe meets Diane he turns into an uncontrolled, über-horny mate.
• Lawe’s animal side knows the moment he meets Diane that she’s his mate and he briefly resists the bond before giving chase.
• Diane is the sister of Rachel from Lion’s Heat and the plots are connected and confusing unless you’ve read all the previous books.
• Diane is an independent woman who wouldn’t give in to Lawe except her panties demand it.
• Diane could never be happy with Lawe’s over-protective nature, though is willing to try if he can compromise, which he might be able to do so long as Diane submits to him sexually.
• Anger and fighting always lead to hot sex (typically against a wall).
• Lawe is like all Breeds in that he doesn’t have to listen to what Diane says since he can smell how she really feels.
• So many explicit sex scenes they read nearly the same.
• The mystery of what the now-dead villain injected into baby Amber (Diane’s niece) is barely progressed so readers must await the next book(s).
• Once Diane and Lawe stop fighting their mating then they can have one obligatory anal sex scene.
• Previous breedmates make cameo appearances.
• More hot Breeds are introduced.
• The undercover Coyotes, Dog included, make their super cute we’re-misunderstood-good-guys appearance.
• The editing is possibly the worst of any Breed book.  Double periods, missing punctuation, missing words, and too many words all abound and will provide cannon fodder for anti-Leigh fans web-wide.

So, yes, Lawe’s Justice fits the Leigh Breed formula perfectly.  Fans will eat this book up and haters will have more to hate.  Say what you will about the series but at least readers, me included, will always know what they get when they read a Breed novel, Lawe’s Justice included.
