ReviewA great start to a new series! Popular actor Christopher Daniels aka Uriel, the Angel of Vengeance, has been searching for his long lost archess for the past two thousand years. His search comes to an end when he meets Eleanore ‘Ellie’ Granger at a bookstore autograph session. Ellie is definitely the one for him, with her stunning looks and unique healing ability. Yet, her existence is known not only to Uriel and his 3 angelic brothers. Enemies of the angels seek to kidnap and bind Ellie to themselves. Uriel will do anything to protect his true mate, even if that means sacrificing himself, but can he win Ellie’s heart and her love? I love angels and therefore the story that Walden has created about 4 angels (Uriel, Michael, Gabriel, and Azarael) living on Earth until they find the mates is definitely a keeper. Uriel and Ellie are both characters that I could support and love. Ellie’s reactions to Uriel’s angelic origins and attraction are realistic. Uriel, on the other hand, is a devastating specimen of hero: loyal and faithful without wavering. Even in the face of immense struggle and opposition, Uriel is willing to stand strong and fight for his mate. The tension between Uriel and Ellie is gut-wrenching and sensual to the core. In my opinion Walden is the pressure and suspense queen as she knows just how to build and build, and then complete knock you off your feet with the unexpected. A great example of sensual tension is this scene, where Uriel has just met Ellie and is propositioning her: Eleanore took a few seconds to digest this. There was a part of her that simply couldn’t believe her position at that moment. She was being corners by Christopher Daniels, against her own customer service desk, and asked out on a date. But despite the impossibility of it all, she knew she wasn’t dreaming. This felt too real.Besides a great love story with a powerhouse hero and heroine, Walden creates some formidable villains, including one angel that everyone is familiar with. The evil angel in question is definitely a character that will keep drawing you in, and single-handedly shows Walden’s ability to develop a complex character that leaves you guessing. The story is masterfully crafted with plenty of action, and each character is endearing in their own way. I honestly can’t wait for the next books in this series. I’m really looking forward to each book and meeting the archess that this author has planned for each of our angels. Reviewed by Landra | ||||||
