Genre: Suspense Heat Level: Sensual Rating: Some deaths live on forever For as long as it has stood overlooking New England's jagged coastline, Lexington House has been the witness to madness… and murder. But in recent years the inexplicable malice that once tormented so many has lain as silent as its victims. Until now… A member of the nation's foremost paranormal forensic team, Jenna Duffy has made a career out of investigating the inexplicable. Yet nothing could prepare her for the string of slayings once again plaguing Lexington House—or for the chief suspect, a boy barely old enough to drive, much less kill. With the young man's life on the line, Jenna must team up with attorney Samuel Hall to pinpoint who—or what—is taking the lives of those who get too close to the past. But everything they learn brings them closer to the forces of evil stalking this tortured ground.

ReviewHeather Graham has done it again. She’s written a fast paced book with a wonderful hero and heroine. This book is one of the Krewe of Hunters series. I think this series is quite well done. The Krewe is made up of special agents in a unit within the FBI. They all have a paranormal type gift. Several of the members of the unit see and communicate with ghosts. This particular story is set in Salem, Massachusetts and I love the way Ms. Graham describes the crisp fall days and evenings. I could see it in my mind and could almost feel the coming of fall in my veins. I also love the historical facts sprinkled in the narrative. Being a big fan of the sad history of the Salem witch trials, it was interesting to have this be a part of the story. The romance unfolds during the investigation of the murders and the love scenes are sensual but not overly done. I like the light touch that Ms. Graham has in her stories. She gives the reader enough to feel the attraction between the parties without going too far with graphic details. I also enjoy the light paranormal touch in these stories. One thing that did niggle at me was one scene where the heroine was tied up. She initially was on a sofa but then the narrative went on to describe her being in a chair. It took me out of the story as I went back to try to figure out if I read something wrong. All in all, though, this was a great read and I recommend it. If you like ghost stories and fast paced mysteries, this is the book for you. Reviewed by Jillian | ||||||
